Machines for the office, recorded and returnable
Supply, setup and repair of business laptops, PCs and peripherals. Each machine follows a written standard, is recorded as an asset, and is wiped or returned when it leaves the organisation.
What is supplied
This service is for equipment the organisation owns or is about to own: laptops, desktop PCs, screens, docks, keyboards and other peripherals used for work. The choice starts from the job. A person who travels, a person who stays at one desk, and a person who runs software you name do not need the same machine.
We will say when a repair is the sounder course, and when a repair would leave you with a machine the office cannot rely on. Home computers are outside this list and are described on the home and personal page.
Setup to a written standard
Each machine is set up to a standard you have seen: the accounts, the encryption the device supports, and the software list you have approved. Nothing extra is installed as a courtesy. The standard is short enough to compare one machine with the next.
An asset note records the make, the model, the serial number and who holds the machine. That note is yours. It is how a later repair, a move or a leaver is matched to the right device.
Repair
Repair starts with a diagnosis, told to you before parts are ordered. Parts are fitted only with approval. Where a manufacturer warranty applies, we deal with that warranty on the terms you already have. We do not invent a warranty of our own on top.
If the machine has to leave the premises, that is agreed first, including when it will be back. Data on a machine sent for repair is limited to what the repair needs, and disks are not used as a source of spare parts for someone else.
When a machine leaves the organisation
Retirement is a decision you make. The agreement states the handling of the drive: wiped so the previous files are not available to the next user, or removed and returned to you if you would rather destroy it yourselves. The method used is written on the asset note.
We do not keep retired machines as an unnamed pool, and we do not pass them to another client. Accountability for the wipe or the return sits with the named contact for the work.
