About

A practice organised around the work

Cornwall Computers is the business IT practice described on this site. The useful account of it is how work is accepted, who is accountable, and how client data is handled. The legal entity is named once, in the footer of each page.

What this site will and will not claim

Cornwall Computers carries out business IT work for organisations in Cornwall, with a smaller amount of home computer repair. The facts that matter are procedural: who is accountable, what they may change, and how your data is handled.

This site does not publish reviews, client names, response-time promises, prices, headcounts or years of trading. It does not claim certifications or partnerships. Those things are easy to invent and hard for a reader to check, so they are left off.

How work is accepted

Work starts with an enquiry by email. We say whether it sits with this practice. If it does not, we say so. If it does, the scope is written before anything is changed: what is included, what is not, and who may approve a change that sits outside that scope.

Business work and home work are not folded into the same arrangement. An office agreement is not the right vehicle for a family laptop, and a home visit is not the right vehicle for a company network.

Accountability

You are given a named contact. That person is accountable for progress and for the notes. Work is not handed to an anonymous queue. When the contact is away, the cover is named in the notes.

Notes are written so someone who was not in the room can follow them. They record what was asked, what changed, what was left alone, and any decision still waiting. They are not a marketing record, and they are not published.

Confidentiality and data

One client's systems are not discussed with another client. Staff are identified only as far as the task needs. Access is the least that lets the task be finished, it is recorded, and it is removed when the work or the agreement ends.

Passwords are typed by the person who holds them. Files are copied only when the task requires it, and the note says where a copy is and when it goes. The privacy notice describes what this website itself does, which is little, because it has no contact form and no analytics tracker.

If you want to know whether a piece of work fits, email us. The contact page says what to include.
